Fall Is Coming!

For the past couple of days I have had to turn my ac off in the morning because I get too cold. But then I have to turn it on in the afternoon because I get too hot. That can only mean one thing...Fall is coming!!! I love fall and I am so excited for the leaves to change colors, jackets, hoodies, jeans, boots, the crisp air and everything else that comes with fall!

Change

Change:
To cause to be different
To give a completely different form or appearance to
To interchange
To exchange for or replace with another, usually of the same kind or category
To switch: change methods; change sides
To become different or undergo alteration
To undergo transformation or transition
To go from one phase to another

Different, Transform, go from one phase to another-that is change and I have a hard time with it! Some things are changing in my life right now and I don't think that I'm handling it well. I live in my bubble and like things the way they are. I like my routine. I know that change can be good and it can make things better but that still doesn't make it easy.

What I have learned about change is that it is going to happen, whether I like it or not, I have no control over it. What I do have control over is my attitude! My attitude not only affects me, but the others around me. It can change the whole outcome of whatever is changing. I have also learned that I can only control myself and there's no point worrying about others.

I have changed my attitude in the past couple of days about the changes occurring. I know that once the changes are done, new "routine" will be in place and all will be well again. Until then my cheesy "Everything is great" grin will be on my face!

Getting Older

I don't know why when you have a birthday everyone asks if you feel older. That is such a stupid question. Normally the answer is no, it's just another day. But I turned 24 this year and I really do feel older. I have been married for 3 years, I have a house and a yard, I have the dogs and I have bills. I have more responsibilities than ever. I got to work, come home, make dinner and am ready for bed, I am stuck in this rut 5 days a week! I feel old! I know that I'm not old, but I really do feel older this year!

(Why can't I take a good pic lately?
My tongue is sticking through my teeth-nice!)

My birthday was yesterday and I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone for the cards, phone calls, flowers, lunch, gifts and treats! My work ordered Kneaders (my favorite) for lunch for me and gave me a card. My wonderful friends and their adorable children came to visit me at work and brought cheesecake and flowers. My sister took me to get a facial which was AMAZING and she baked an incredible Sunflower cake! My family took me to dinner which was fun. My parents gave me a cookbook stand and and a Target gift card! My aunt and grandma gave me some money. And I went shopping last week and got a bunch of new clothes, which was Chris' gift to me! Oh and my front yard! I had a great birthday, so again Thank You to everyone!!!!!

GRASS, GRASS,GRASS!!!

Our grass is finally in!!!!! This has been a long project and we are so happy to be done with it-well almost, we were 300 feet short on sod and hopefully it should come next week. I think we will wait on trees and flowers until next year, because we are so late into the season now. We started working on our yard at the beginning of the summer. We were ready for top soil and grass and then Chris went to Africa and all of the weeds grew back. So for the past 2 weeks we have been busting our butts to get the grass in. We have been working in the yard the past week until about 9pm every night and the reward is so worth it!

I have to give a lot of credit to Chris! He did most of the work to get the yard ready for grass and he's not even here to enjoy it. The curbing was poured yesterday at about 8:30am. Our sod was supposed to be delivered by 1pm, but didn't come until 5pm. Chris left to go work in Canada last night so we took him to the airport right after the sod was delivered. He really wanted to lay the sod down, so he layed one strip down and then I took him to the airport. I had a lot of help from our family laying the sod, so thank you to everyone that helped! I am sure that Chris will love it when he comes home!

And I finally got to put my metal U of U in the yard!

Da Weekend

We had such a productive weekend! We had a wonderful and fun BBQ on Friday with the Snells, Quinneys and Thuesons. It was good to see everyone and play Hand N Foot and all of the food was amazing!

Saturday Chris and I woke up and worked on the yard all day long! It was so hot and it drained me but we got a lot done. While we were outside working a man drove by and stopped. He has tried to stop by our house for the past month, but couldn't catch us. He works for NorthStar, they put in alarm systems. Chris and I have been talking for a while about getting an alarm system, but haven't had the money yet. The company has put in several of their alarm systems in the neighborhood already, so we got one too! The alarm system was free and we just have to pay for the monthly monitoring! So Saturday night, we had that installed. While the man was installing the system, we were watching Food Network and Bobby Flay was making pulled pork. So at 8:30 at night, we headed to Goodwood! And as always, it was wonderful!

Sunday was also a great day. We slept in and I made Chris his favorite breakfast. I have been begging Chris to take the dogs to the dog park for weeks, so we packed them up and headed across the valley. When we got to the dog park, Harley started growling at a pit bull before we even got out of the car. We sat there for about 5 minutes and he continued to growl. Now we really didn't want a pit bull to beat Harley and have to go to the vet, so we went home. Stupid dog! When we got home, I cleaned our house and Chris did more yard work. And we ended our weekend with a wonderful dinner!

Baby News!

After much thought, conversation and prayer, Chris and I have decided to delay starting a family. We have a few reasons and need to get a few things in order before we feel prepared to bring a child into the world, but we are keeping those between us. We just wanted to let everyone know not to expect any baby news from us for awhile. Thanks!
