Yard Work

Sunday we did some yard work. We never know when Chris is leaving town, so we have to take advantage of every chance we can. So The Snell family joined us to help out. Thank you guys so much for all of your hard work, we appreciate your help especially on a Sunday. These pictures are of Kaleb in our dog house!

Tracy and I

Last Thursday we went to the Jazz playoff game with John and Tracy. Not only was it our first time hanging out with John and Tracy but it was the first playoff game that Chris and I had ever been to. We had tons of fun, minus the loosing part. The arena was so loud, the crowd was pumped and it just made the night fun. I hope that we get to do it again next year! And I hope that we get to hang out with The Laynes again.

My Brother

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, my brother is coming up on his 1 year mission mark. So my sister and I decided to get him a couple of things. I got him his favorite journal and I wrote my testimony in the front. And then my sister and I made him a candy gram. All right, she wrote one and I wrote one so we combined the 2 of them. The words in quotations are the candy bars!

To our "Big Hunk" of a missionary,
The "Riesen" for this gram is to bring "Joy" into your life. We understand not knowing "Wherther" or not you are going to get a baptism may make you a little "Nutrageous" at times, but things will certainly go your "Milky Way." The "Riesen" you are so good is because of the "Mounds" of service you do. Those "Nerds" don't know what they're missing. You are a "Treasue" to us. We are so proud of you for being a "Life Saver" and going the "Extra" mile to bring a "Bit O Honey" to the people of Detroit. You are doing a "M&M" (might and marvelous) work and your "Pay Day" in Heaven will be worth it. Keep "Chew" sing the right!

"Hugs" and "Kisses", Your Family.

I hope that he likes it!

Surprise!!!

I have a sneaky husband. Chris called me yesterday and told me that he had scored 4 Jazz tickets for the game on Thursday, I was so excited. But then I remembered that he was out of town and his job in Louisanna was going slow. I asked him if he would be home and he said hopefully. I figured that he would be coming today, since he was pretty sure he would be here for the game on Thursday. Well, he came home last night! I am so happy to have him home and I am excited to be going to a Jazz playoff game!

Remembering

As most of you know, Chris has to travel as part of his job. I have been spoiled for the past 3 months and have had him home due to his knee surgery. He left 1 week ago today and I am remembering how much I hate his job and how much I hate him traveling. When he gets home from this job, they are sending him to New Mexico for a job that could take 2-3 weeks. I hate being alone!

I love Mondays!

That's right I actually said that I love Monday! Here is why...

I don't have to work until 12pm which means I can sleep in a little bit.
This also means that I miss traffic (wonderful when it snows)!
My brother usually emails us in the morning so we can kind of talk to him.
After work I come home and my time is consumed by the television. (This may sound bad, but usually I am running errands after work or doing other things after work and don't get home until 7pm, sometimes later). So Monday is my tv night. My tv night starts with Dancing With the Stars, followed by the Bachelor, then John and Kate Plus 8 and then the Hills. by now it is 11:30 or 12pm and bedtime! Dinner comes sometime in between all of that.

I love my Monday routine and I will be sad when it changes!

Play Girl Here He Comes!

I have the hottest husband ever! Chris had to get some new flame retardent work bibs for a trip he was going on. So to be dorky I told him that we needed to get a picture of him in them. Well he looks hot in them! I told him that he looks like one of those firemen that pose in the calendars!
(I am sad that the pics are kind of blurry).

What a weekend

So remember my post about how boring Chris and I are? Well this past weekend was far from boring. Here is what we did...

Friday: We hung out with the Snells and Hambleton's at Heather's house. She made us a wonderful dinner followed by awesome cookies and we played a fun game of Hand N Foot (which Heather and I lost, oh well).
Saturday: Chris and I did yard work (my most favorite thing ever)! We raked rocks for most of the morning. My hamstrings are still sore from loading rocks into the wheelbarrow. After I cleaned up Chris and I went to meet Jessica, one of his friends from Jr. High and High school days. Right before we went to meet Jessica, I got a call from my sister. My brother-in-law was doing drill for the National Guard in Draper and had fallen off the back of a truck. He hit his head and couldn't remember anything. So they did some tests on him, gave him some meds and he got to come home. He is ok, but is a little mellow (he is usually not mellow at all). He's kind of funny to talk to right now. But he is doing well. We also went to Olive Garden (my fav) with my family!
Sunday: I went to church while Chris did more yard work and then we went to the Bees game with my nephew and Chris' sister and family. It was a beautiful day and I got burned!

All in all we had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of work, play and some good memories!

Life is a "funny" thing

I posted that we just sold Chris' truck-let me back track a little bit. Chris had a black Dodge truck that we paid off. He then decided that he wanted a newer, nicer truck so we purchased the Ford. We have had the Ford for about 2 months. Chris decided that he doesn't like Fords and wanted to keep the Dodge. So he decided to put both up for sale to see what would happen. Both trucks were posted for sale for about a month and nobody called on them. Well, we sold the Dodge Tuesday and today Chris got a call and it was someone wanting to buy the Ford. Crap! Why did that have to happen? It would've been better for us to sell the Ford and why after a month of no one showing interest did someone call right after we sold a truck? Life is "funny" and I'm not liking it right now!

Sold!

Chris' old truck was purchased last night! We are no longer owners of 3 cars, just 2. He was sad to see it leave, but the check was worth it!
