My Monkey

Chris and I went to Fetal Fotos yesterday and did a 4D photo shoot of Conner. He is so squished in my belly that it was hard to get good shots, but we poked him around a bit and he moved for us! I think that he kind of looks like a monkey so for now that's what I'm calling him!

He is a boy for sure!

Advice

So we are down to about 7 weeks (if they induce me) until Conner comes! I'm getting freaked out and do not feel ready at all! I have been making a list of some things that need to get done before he comes, like cleaning and finishing the nursery. But is there anything you wish that you had done with your spouse before your babies came?

32 Weeks

Here we are at 32 weeks! It seems like an end is in sight, yet so far away. I am getting used to the whole diabetes thing but it's still hard to not eat the sweets. We had an appointment this week and the doctor said that he will probably take me 1 week early so that Conner doesn't have the chance to get too big causing a C section-this makes me happy! We got our stroller today and I think that it was a good choice, we will see when we get using it though.
Other than that everything else is going great!

We went camping this weekend at The Redmans up Big Cottonwood Canyon with the Snells, Thuesons and Hambletons and had a blast! We didn't really do much but hang out in the mountains but it was nice to relax. We ate lots of good food, had some great conversations, spent an afternoon playing Hand N Foot (nice win ladies) and got dirty.
I'm hoping that we make this an annual tradition!

Nursery Part 3

In my search for crib bedding I came across this vintage baseball bedding, but it's really expensive. I have been trying to find cheaper bedding, but have not loved anything as much as the vintage bedding. We happened to go into USA Baby today and they had the bedding, so we bought it! We are in love with it and are very happy with the way it looks in the nursery!

Gestational Diabetes

Most people know already, but Wednesday I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I took my glucose test last week and failed it so Wednesday morning I went to the lab to do the more extensive 3 hour glucose test. I drank the extra sugary drink and about 30 minutes later threw it up in the lobby in front of the lab-good times!
So my doctor decided that I have GD and sent me to a dietitian. I went yesterday and got a meter and have to test my blood 4 times a day and I got a diet plan. I am pretty confused about the diet part! I have to balance my carbs and proteins so meal and snack planning is going to take ALOT of work.
I am probably just being a wimp or baby about this, but I'm not happy that I'm dealing with this. It has been emotionally hard for me and is going to take getting used to. I understand that it will most likely go away when Conner is born so I only have about 10 weeks of doing this, but it still sucks. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is not about me, this is for my child!

Baseball Mitts Part 2

Chris has been checking DIs for a few days now and we haven't found any mitts. We have also been looking on Ebay and found that it was cheaper to order new mitts from my dad. So thank you to everyone for trying to help us out!

29 Weeks, Haircut and Nursery Part 2

This Friday I hit 29 weeks! I had my glucose test and was really freaked out about drinking the drink, but it wasn't bad at all. I had a doctors appointment after the test and he said that Conner's heartbeat is good and I am measuring on track. And I have finally hit my pre-pregnancy weight so I didn't get yelled at today!

We have been looking at baby furniture lately and haven't really found anything that we like. We went into Babies R Us tonight and found a crib that we both loved and sure enough it had been discontinued. So Chris asked how much the floor model would cost and we got a great deal on it, so we bought it! What do you think?

I've also been working on some craft projects for the nursery. My sister made me a magnet board with a black frame for our office last year. Well the office is now the nursery, so I asked her if I could repaint the frame to match the nursery and here is the finished project!

I have another big project in the works that involves spelling out Conner, but I will save the details until it's finished!

And I got my hair cut last week. I cut 2 inches off and added some layers into it. I really didn't think it was that much of a change, but lots of people have noticed it and liked it. I've had a few requests for pictures, so here they are.
