25 Weeks

How Far Along: As of today I am 25 weeks and 2 Days
Size of Baby: Measures about 13 1/2 inches or 1 1/2 pounds or the size of an average rutabaga
Maternity Clothes: I can still fit into my non maternity skinny jeans but they are really really tight, I probably shouldn't wear them anymore. I have 1 pair of maternity jeans but I don't really like them so I don't wear them often. I did go shopping last week and bought a pair of jean capris and some tops. I was going to try and dress so cute this pregnancy, but it's just not happening.
Gender: BOY!
Movement:He is a mover! I feel him a lot at about 8-9am and then 10-11pm. Other than that it's random moving and kicking through out the day. But I love it and know that I will miss it.
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good!
What I Miss: I don't really miss anything right now.
Cravings: Still not having any real cravings. I do like burgers a lot this pregnancy though.
Symptoms: My back is starting to hurt if I sit or stand for awhile. I am carrying him really low. My doctor talked to me about a band you can get to kind of lift things up, but I don't think I'm at that point yet.
Best Moment of the Week: Had an appointment last week and got to hear the heartbeat. She put the machine on my stomach and he kept kicking at it!
Appointments this Week: I don't have a real appointment but need to take my 1 hour glucose test this week. I'm really nervous about having the diabetes again, so I'm kind of freaking out about this.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Throwing up in the docs office! Just kidding. I'm really anxious to start going through Conner's old clothes and seeing what is still good, but I think it's kind of early. But I have the energy now so I might just get it done. I also want to start working on some art for the nursery.
This Week's Thoughts:I have lots of thoughts all of the time! Too many to write down. My biggest thought is probably "what the heck did we do?" Everything is going to change again and I don't really like change. Also, I know about 4 people who recently had babies and it's making me anxious for mine to get here!

Our Boring Life

I became a Stay At Home Mom last September, but before then Chris and I both worked full time and our nights and weekends were kind of crazy, I felt busy. Now I kind of feel like I have a boring life. Conner and I stay home most days and play and clean and wait for dad to get home. We don't go out very much (due to my anxiety) which I wish was not the case. Conner and I have the freedom to do what we want, when we want and some days that is nothing. Some days we hang out on the couch, read, play the IPad, watch TV, whatever.

But in 4 short months another baby is entering our family and everything is going to change! My life is going to get busier! The baby is going to need my attention, Conner will need my attention, Chris will need my attention, my house will still need to be cleaned and food will still need to be cooked. I'm already tired thinking about it! Conner will eventually start school which will lead to homework and some day he will start playing sports and everything snowballs from there. And his little brother will not be far behind him! And our days will be boring no more!

So for the next 4 months I am going to soak up my days with just Conner, sitting on the couch being boring. Because I know that it will all change and in 20 years I will be able to sit down and relax!

Baby Update

I'm sure that Conner had about 20 posts at this point in my pregnancy with him and lots of pictures to go with them. I also kept a journal during my pregnancy with him and haven't done that with this baby, which makes me sad. So here I am, almost 19 weeks into this pregnancy and this is really the first post about how this pregnancy is going, sorry Baby Braxton, I suck!

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and the baby is healthy and looking good and still a boy! I was worried last night that something was going to be wrong, so I'm relieved that everything looks good.

I have seen this idea on a few peoples blog and decided to copy the idea. I don't think that I will do them every week, but I will do better at keeping everyone updated! This first post is kind of a catch-up on the past 19 weeks.

How Far Along: Will be 19 weeks in 2 days
Size of Baby: Today, he measured 9 oz. which is roughly the size of a large tomato or 6 inches from head to bottom
Maternity Clothes: Not wearing any, but my pants don't really fit anymore so I guess it's time to go shopping. I ordered a few maternity shirts online and should get those soon. Since I'm not working this pregnancy and stay home a lot, I wear lounge pants,a t-shirt and a zip up jacket most days. I only get dressed when I really need to. I feel bad for my husband who comes home everyday wondering why I'm not dressed yet. Oh well!
Gender: BOY!
Movement:I have only felt him move twice. Once it kind of felt like a wave in my stomach and one was a kick. With Conner, my placenta was backwards meaning the thick part is towards my belly button, making it harder to feel the baby. The ultrasound tech said my placenta is backwards again with the pregnancy which explains why I haven't really felt him.
Sleep: I sleep fine most nights. This past week I have been waking up around 4 and it takes me a while to get back to sleep. Conner is also sick and having coughing attacks at night and not sleeping well so that is probably a part of it too.
What I Miss: I don't really miss anything right now.
Cravings:None really. I was nauseous for the first 17 weeks or so and just ate whatever I thought tasted or sounded good at the time. I can pretty much eat anything at this point, I just really hate preparing food right now. I have really enjoyed vegetables with ranch this pregnancy though.
Symptoms: Nauseous for the first 17 weeks and no energy. I gag a lot at certain smells. I have only thrown up a couple of times this pregnancy. I also had no energy for the 17 weeks and have just regained energy in the past couple of weeks.
Best Moment of the Week: Seeing the heartbeat on the ultrasound
Appointments this Week: Just the ultrasound today
What I'm Looking Forward to: Getting started on the nursery and maybe buying a few clothes for the baby.
This Week's Thoughts:I know a lot of people who are having babies right now and have been reading their birth stories. And even though I gave birth once, I'm terrified right now! I was induced with Conner and as of right now, there is no need to induce this baby. So I'm really scared of having contractions, and going through labor and not knowing when this baby will come. I'm fully aware that it is still really early in this pregnancy to be talking about a due date, but I loved being induced with Conner and knowing when he was coming and not having to worry about my water breaking and things like that.

12 Years

I'm a couple days late in posting this but oh well! As of February 7th 2012, Chris and I have been together 12 years! I won't go into detail because I think I've talked about our love story on this blog before, but we met on the 7th and our first date was on the 14th. So this Valentine's Day we will be celebrating the 12th anniversary of our first date! I love Chris more than anything and anyone in the world and am SO SO happy to be his wife and to have him as my best friend!

Here are some OLD pictures for your viewing pleasure!

We're Having A...

BOY!!!!!

Most everyone knows that I really wanted a girl and really thought this baby was going to be a girl, but I'm finally OK that we are having another boy! They are going to have so much fun growing up together and playing together and getting in trouble together! We are working on some name options but nothing is set in stone yet!

Funny Things

These are just some funny things that Conner has said lately that I want documented!

Sometimes when we put Conner to bed, he cries and knocks on his door to come out. This week he has started saying, "I want Mom, No Dadda, Mom!" Usually followed by "Let me out."

He says upside down as Upiside (up-e-side) Down. This morning he woke up at 6:30am and I wasn't ready to be awake so I brought him in my bed. When he woke up a couple of hours later, he had moved so his head was on my chest and he was looking up at me. He said, "Mom, I upiside down!"

When we ask him if he wants a brother or sister he says "Sista." And when you ask him what a baby says, he always looks at me then smiles. Then I cry like a baby. Then I ask him what he says when the baby cries and he says "Hush!"

Every single morning he looks around the house and says, "Where's Dadda?" I say work. He says, "Oh, he come home, see me, see you. "

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and feel so blessed to be surrounded by great friends and family that spoiled us! I was a little bummed out this Christmas Season because I had great plans to do fun and exciting Christmasy things all during December (like The Polar Express, Lights at Thanksgiving Point, Temple Lights and Sugarhouse Christmas Street) but Chris was in Poland up until the Thursday night before Christmas. We were able to do a couple fun things and it was nice to spend time together and time with our family! I hope that next year we will be able to have Chris home and do more fun things, but we will have a 5 month old so we will see what happens! Here are the highlights and lots of pictures!

Friday: Dinner at Little America with my family. We were supposed to go to Temple Square after dinner, but Chris was still on Poland time and was exhausted, so while my family went to Temple Square, we went home and went to bed.

Saturday: I finished making our neighbor gifts and while I made peanut butter fudge, I watched my boys out the window delivering our neighbor gifts-so cute! We finished wrapping gifts, exchanged gifts with our good friends The Lockes and had a surprise visit from The Snells. I had planned on making sugar cookies for Santa with Conner, but lost energy and decided not to do it. I feel bad about this, but Conner is still young and doesn't really get it anyways, but for sure next year!

Sunday: We got to spend the morning at our house this year and opened our family gifts to each other. Conner was up at 8am and ready to go! It was so nice to take our time, eat breakfast and do our own thing. In the early afternoon we went to Chris's sister's house and exchanged gifts with his side of the family. We attempted to get a picture with all of the cousins and did an OK job! After a quick lunch, we headed to my sister's house. We opened some of our gifts, then paused to make dinner, then continued opening gifts after dinner.

Monday: We met all of my cousins and their kids at my Grandmas house and exchanged gifts and had a yummy dinner there. It's so nice to see all of my cousins, I only wish we saw each other more.

We feel so blessed for all that we have and to have such wonderful people in our lives! We are very excited for 2012 and our new addition coming in July! We hope you all had a wonderful Season and that you have a Happy New Year as well!
